For Christmas, I decided to bake a cake for my family. I wanted to try baking a red velvet cake which was perfect for the holidays. There were a lot of recipes on the internet which I just copied. This was not a problem for me. Baking is such a easy chore which I knew I would be able to perfect. The only thing which I wanted to master was learning how to do the best cake decorations.

Since this was a holiday, I wanted my cake to look fit for the occasion. It did not only have to taste delicious. Of course, we all know that food is 75% about presentation. The first thing that people see is how the cake is presented before they even decide on eating it. I checked out a couple of suggestions until I ended up with a simple wreath design for the cake.

My family was very much impressed with what I did. By the end of the night, there was nothing left of my cake. I was so happy that I did get to make our Christmas a little special. I know that I could always count on baking cakes for my family.
